Later this week, art aficionados, designers, fashion lovers, and creatives will come together in Miami for the cultural and artistic melting pot that is Art Basel. A standout among the overwhelming offering of installations, gallery openings and parties that will take place throughout the week is Baque Creative’s Social Studies.

Developed by Angelo Baque for Miami’s Design District, the four-day pop-up will bring together top brands and artists including Off-White™Union Los Angeles, 032c Magazine, No Vacancy Inn, Some Ware and Awake NY. Social Studies marks the second major installation led by Baque Creative, following its inaugural project for Nike ”OFF CAMPUS” and Virgil Abloh’s Off-White™ x Nike “The Ten” collection.

Inspired by the success of “OFF CAMPUS,” at the core of Social Studies is a series of workshops and educational programs curated for a youth demographic, aiming to offer attendees the skills and guidance to create their own bespoke creations. Proceeds of the Social Studies T-shirt ($100 USD), designed by Virgil Abloh and pictured above, will go to The Education Fund, which provides support for innovation in public education. The T-shirt is available exclusively at the Social Studies pop-up.

“The idea for Social Studies came about from gathering my experience from putting together the programming for Virgil’s The Ten x Nike pop-up, where I felt we were strongest in the workshops. It was really inspiring to see the kids work with their hands and be able to take these classes with masters in their areas,” Baque tells HYPEBEAST.

The workshops at Social Studies will be led by Baque, Virgil Abloh, Heron Preston, Chris Gibbs and Shaniqwa Jarvis among others. See below for full scheduling and if you’ll be in town, sign up here.
