J.W.Anderson & Converse's Chuck '70 Vintage U-Throat Ballet Releases This Week
A sleek black low-top with green accents.
Not long ago, J.W.Anderson and Converse offered fans a closer look at their “Glitter_Gutter” pack. The collaborative offering also includes a bespoke Chuck ‘70 silhouette dubbed the Vintage U-Throat Ballet. The low-top sneaker receives the glittery motif that is set against an all-black upper alongside subtle green accents. As far as construction details go, the shoe is equipped with a higher rubber siding detail and OrthoLite cushioned footbeds, as well as premium leather sockliners. To top it all off, the duo are housing each pair inside a special edition J.W. Anderson dust bag for every order.
“We wanted to work on a product that could still read as a low Chuck ’70, but work on the details. A vintage ballerina that inspired it was actually more of a sport slipper in mesh,” explained Anderson to Nike. “I liked the functionality and lightness of that shoe, and we decided to adopt some details to reinterpret the icon.”
Take a look at the Chuck ‘70 U-Throat Ballet model above and expect an official release at nike.com and select retailers this December 13 for approximately $130 USD.
