Blackmeans Debuts Hybrid Creeper Running Sneaker
Japan’s finest punk clothing label teams with SUVSOLE for a new kind of trail runner.

Best known for its bespoke leather jackets, Japanese imprint Blackmeans also produces two seasonal collections a year, alongside accessories and collaborations. For Fall/Winter 2017, the punk-influenced label is teaming up with domestic sole providers SUVSOLE on an innovative take on this year’s must-have sneaker, the trail runner.
Blackmeans’ new “Brothel Creepers” adapt SUVSOLE’s new “URBAN TRAIL SOLE” to a creeper-style upper inspired by George Cox. The resulting fusion is a unique blend of punk heritage and technical style, with enough functionality to actually comfortably hit the trails. The shoe’s new sole utilizes a reshaped EVA blend to ensure comfort along with grip, while its upper features the D-ring and weaving on the toe typical of creeper shoes, executed in premium suede.
Announced back in August, the sneakers are now available for ¥34,560 JPY, approximately $305 USD on the brand’s website. One of the year’s biggest trends, we covered the trail runner hype in detail a few months back.
