HBO Teases Upcoming André The Giant Documentary
Slated for spring 2018.
André The Giant is one of the most famous professional wrestlers ever. His prolific career throughout the ’60s and ’70s all lead to one of the most memorable matches in Wrestlemania history where he took on Hulk Hogan in 1987. Bill Simmons and HBO Sports, in conjunction with WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon, are producing a documentary about André’s life, and a teaser trailer for it just dropped.
The 30-second teaser features footage of a young Andre in action with a narration describing his god-like stature. The documentary will be released in Spring 2018, but no specific release date is available at the moment. When the project was announced earlier this year, Vince McMahon stated:
“For more than 20 years, Andre the Giant’s larger than life personality and unique charisma captured the imagination of fans around the world. I will always value our friendship, and am proud to tell the story of the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’.”
