EXCLUSIVE: Tom Misch Shares New Visual-Single for "Movie"
A future UK star you need to get familiar with.
After announcing plans to release a debut album earlier this week, UK singer Tom Misch has now shared the visual interpretation of the project’s first single, “Movie.” The track showcases Misch’s distinct harmonious approach to jazzy-soul which features his long-term collaborator Carmody alongside guest vocals at the start from his sister, Polly Misch. The song was conceptualized from old classic movies and the unique charm that came with them. As for the Joshua Osbourne-directed video itself, it’s a gracious family affair that not only finds Misch’s sister at the intro but also features astonishing footage of his grandparents from 1945.
“The video for “Movie” is a special one for me” Misch explains, “but especially my dad as it contains old footage of his parents Margriet & Klaus which was shot around 1945 in various locations around Europe. My sister Polly appears at the start of the video as it is her spoken vocals at the start of the song and my mum Carol was the make-up artist for the shoot so it turned out to be a real family effort. Big thanks to Joshua Osbourne who directed the video and bought our collective vision to life!”
Meanwhile, his debut album Geography, is slated to release in April 6, 2018 and will find the singer exploring new musical landscapes including Disco, Soul, Hip-Hop and Jazz. You can also catch him on tour this winter in North America and Europe, full details can be found on his site.
