In the latest chapter of The Players Tribune’s Book of Isaiah, we follow the former Boston Celtic on his road to recovery. During his journey to return to the NBA, Isaiah Thomas battles the emotional rollercoaster of being distanced from the game of basketball while trying to stay in shape for the day he makes his Cleveland Cavaliers debut.

Dubbed “Excavate,” the second chapter of the docu-series joins I.T. as he hosts the yearly Zeke-End Weekend basketball tournament where fellow NBA players such as John Wall and Jamal Crawford were in attendance. Despite his injury, Thomas remains active thanks to his children joining him on the basketball court in the comfort of his home. In addition, strong emotions are shared with his father as he presents a special necklace donning an image of his late sister.
