Life With nonnative
An intimate glimpse into the inner workings of the Tokyo-based label.

We spent some time with Tokyo-based label nonnative to get an intimate glimpse into the daily lives and inner workings of the staff. Headed by designer Takayuki Fujii, nonnative has blossomed into one of Japan’s finest niche exports, merging rugged outdoor and workwear-inspired styles with top-of-the-line materials, not to mention the intricate craftsmanship allowing for versatile functionality. Based in Tokyo’s Nakameguro district, where its flagship store Vendor is also located, nonnative’s obscure sensibilities are reflective of its parent company TNP’s diverse interests in travel, photography, music, events and of course fashion. With the help of nonnative team members, who carried around a disposable camera for the week, we were able to get a look at what life is like working for TNP. Featuring shots of the imprint’s showroom, studio, events, flagship store, coffee shop, sister store ROOTS TO BRANCHES and TRANSIT magazine, enjoy the images above.
