After teaming up on the the nonnative x ASICS GEL-Terrain sneaker last year, ASICS and nonnative are reconnecting to reenvision another ASICS silhouette. The duo is now presenting the ASICS x nonnative “GEL-YETITOKYO HI GTX” – an updated and elevated take on ASICS’ Gel-Yeti boot that initially released in 2000.
In nonnative’s true earthy form, the mid-rise boot’s upper is dipped sleek brown suede and equipped with breathable GORE-TEX to protect from the elements. Most notably, the shoelace structure has been upgraded to a quick shoelace format and moved to the front of the silhouette as opposed to the original placement on the backside. The only evident branding on the boot’s silhouette is on the top of the shin, appearing in the form of stacked ASICS and GORE-TEX insignias, and on the back side of the heel in the shape of nonnative’s signature lettering.
