Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy Plot a Nazi Assassination in New 'Anthropoid' Trailer

Slated to open in August, the new war drama Anthropoid will look to contend with summer blockbusters like Suicide Squad and Ben-Hur. The film, directed by Sean Ellis, is based on true events recalling “Operation Anthropoid,” the code name for the Czech agents’ plot to assassinate SS officer Reinhard Heydrich. Heydrich was the Reich’s main architect behind the Final Solution — the term applied by Nazis to the genocide of European Jews during World War II. The General was also third in command behind Hitler and Himmler. If you need a break from all the action movie sequels and comic book-based flicks coming out, then this serious war thriller could just be the right film for you.

Starring Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan and Peaky Blinders actor Cillian Murphy, Anthropoid will hit theaters on August 12.
