Tom Shelby is back in action. Netflix has taken to social media to give fans a first look at Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy returning as the notorious gangster in the upcoming Peaky Blinders film. Murphy and creator Steven Knight return to give fans a new story about the Peaky Blinders gang set in post-WWI Birmingham. Netflix shares a photo of Murphy in character as well as one with him and Knight.

Directed by Tom Harper, who previously helmed many episodes in the series, the film was revealed to be in the works this June. The show aired its sixth and final season in 2022 after first premiering in 2013. In a statement at the time, Murphy said about the film, “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me…It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.” Knight also wrote the film and is slated to co-produce alongside Murphy, Caryn Mandabach and Guy Heeley with executive producers Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren and David Mason.

Not much is known about the film, but it was recently announced that Barry Keoghan would be joining the cast, though his role has not been disclosed. Take a look at the first look images below.
