EXCLUSIVE: Wasiu - No Jumper
Paying homage to OJ Simpson, The NBA Finals and Gucci Mane.
Besides acknowledging and noticing shots that have come his and his friends & associates’ way, Wasiu decided that he wanted to write this song after a special moment. Game 4 of The NBA Finals. Jeff Van Gundy was talking about Game 5 of the ‘94 NBA Finals where he was Pat Riley’s assistant coach for The Knicks, facing the eventual champs, the Houston Rockets. Game 5 is when the infamous OJ Simpson car chase happened. Al Cowlings, aka A.C., was the driver. Pat Riley had a home in LA and bumped into AC during the offseason. AC told Pat that the reason why he was driving his White Bronco so slow was because OJ wanted to listen to the radio and hear what was happening at the end of Game 5. Wasiu found this hilarious in addition to celebrating Gucci Mane’s release from prison, he’s paying homage to both with this latest single “No Jumper.” Listen above.
