Nike's "Vachetta Tan" Make-Up Comes to the Match Classic
The retro low-top gets the Swoosh’s premium treatment.

Perhaps best remembered as the subject of collaborations with UNDERCOVER and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design some years back, Nike’s decidedly retro Match Classic was resurrected back in 2011 with two premium leather releases (when the Swoosh was dropping “Deconstructed” QuickStrikes left and right). Now, five years later, the kicks are making an unexpected return — and getting the premium treatment once again. This time around it’s the beloved “Vachetta Tan” look — something that’s been employed in one way or another by everything from the Air Max BW, KD 8, and Swoosh Hunter to the CP3.IX, Air Jordan 1, Tiempo ‘94 and Air Max 1. Here, the Match Classic dons the brown leather on the heel alone, sporting dress shoe-inspired perforations while a predominately white look is cast in leather with matching metal-tipped laces and rubber foxing. Finally, to better stand out from the upper, the Swoosh has been embroidered in black.
Clean and simple, the “Vachetta Tan” edition of the Match Classic can be had now from Rock City Kicks for $100 USD per pair.
