Bamford Watch Department Pays Homage to the Beatles
George Bamford celebrates his favorite band.
The Beatles have long been George Bamford‘s favorite band, so it’s only fitting that the Bamford Watch Department founder would pay homage to the iconic Fab Four with one of his signature customized Rolex timepieces. The result? A “Yellow Submarine” edition of the Datejust.
Highlighted by a custom-crafted date wheel that offers a splash of color, the pieces take on the graphical style of the psychedelic Yellow Submarine period and even employ a specially built submarine tip on the second hand. Says Bamford:
The Beatles have been one of my favorite bands for literally as long as I can remember and I am thrilled to be working alongside Apple Corps Ltd on this eye popping design. The yellow submarine’s colorful presence, evolving style and sense of creativity are not only wonderful traits for us to capture in an individual timepiece, but mirror the essence of our business as a whole as we strive to break boundaries and explore new possibilities within luxury design.
Complete with Bamford’s signature scratch-resistant military-grade titanium coating, the “Yellow Submarine” is available now in both black and grey and comes complete with a vacuum-formed yellow submarine shell, all-black outer case and stenciled imagery.
