Returning for this year’s Watches & Wonders Geneva, Grand Seiko has unveiled seven new models spanning a range of popular and signature references in updated dial designs and colorways. Read on for the list of Grand Seiko’s offerings that are currently showing at the event.

Spring Drive Chronograph GMT SBGC275 “Lion’s Mane“

Continuing to draw design inspiration from its watch studio’s surrounding landscapes, Grand Seiko has brought the ebullient hues of a Shinshu sunrise to the dial of this new Spring Drive Chronograph GMT. At a glance, the reference boasts a luscious dark red reminiscence of the limited-edition SBGE305 that was released back in February. Upon a closer look, the dial color changes from red to a brilliant orange thanks to its new patented dial-coating technology known as Optical Multilayer Coating. The SBGC275 has a price tag of $13,400 USD and is set to be released in July as a limited edition of 700 examples.

Spring Drive 8-Day Jewelry Watch SBGD215

In line with last year’s SBGD213, this new Spring Drive 8-Day Jewelry Watch also features an icy color scheme set and a gem-studded appearance. While the former iteration stars a blue mother-of-pearl dial, SBGD215 spotlights a “Lion’s Mane” textured dial crafted from 18k white gold, all framed within a 44.5mm-wide Platinum 950 case. 148 diamonds and 146 sapphires are hand-embellished onto the timepiece, accompanied by a shimmery blue leather strap. Releasing as an 8-piece limited edition, the SBGD215 has a recommended retail price of $300,000 USD.

Spring Drive GMT SBGE307 “Lion’s Mane“

The “Lion’s Mane” textured patterned dial has appeared on various models from the Spring Drive series in the past. Notably, in last year’s Watches & Wonders Geneva, Grand Seiko released the Spring Drive SBGA481 “Tokyo Lion.” This time around, the Japanese watch brand is featuring this distinct pattern on the dial of a Spring Drive GMT. Encased in high-intensity titanium, the timepiece features a 44.5mm diameter and is paired with a matching bracelet. Lumibrite-coated indices and hands complement the patterned dial’s unique radiance, while the GMT’s reddish-brown outline accentuates the watch face with its warm hue. Capable of running continuously for up to 72 hours via a 9R66 caliber, the SBGE307 “Lion’s Mane” is set to retail for $10,700 USD.

Hi-Beat 36000 GMT SBGJ277 “Snowy Valley”

Geared with Grand Seiko’s Hi-Beat 36000 GMT Caliber 9S86, the SBJ277 is the latest addition to the lineup featuring a “Snowy Valley” patterned dial. The dial arrives in a finely molded dial pattern that depicts an ethereal and calming scenery as observed in the mountain peaks near the brand’s watch studio. Encased in stainless steel, the $6,800 USD watch features a two-tone rotating bezel, a matching metal bracelet and a stunning exhibition caseback that showcases its movement.

SBGW314 “Starry Night”

The latest reimagining of Grand Seiko’s first wristwatch subtly refreshes the midcentury classic with elevated timeless appeal. Attired in an 18k rose gold build, the timepiece spotlights a shimmery “Starry Night” dial doused in a tantalizing blue hue that befits its romantic name. Adorning the face are 18k gold indices and handset that echo the luster and warmth of its slim and elegant 38mm watchcase. Inside its chic exterior beats the manual-winding 9S64 caliber that powers the time-teller with 72 hours power reserve. The SBGW314 “Starry Night” is accompanied by two crocodile straps in navy and brown. Priced at $26,500 USD, the timepiece will be released in a limited run of 50 units.

Evolution 9 SLGH021 “Genbi Valley”

Starring a serene light green dial, the SLGH021 is the first reference from the Evolution 9 collection to be encased in Ever-Brilliant Stainless Steel. The accompanying bracelet is also crafted from the same alloy material, known for its high corrosion resistance. Drawing aesthetic cues from the scenic beauty of Genbi Valley, the dial stars an exquisite pattern reminiscent of mosaic-like fragments that flicker with every speck of light. The 40mm time-teller is powered by the 9SA5 Hi-beat 36000 automatic movement, geared with 80 hours of continuous running time, complete with time and date indications. The watch is confirmed to be a 1,000-piece limited edition with a price tag of $10,400 USD.

Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000 80 Hours: SLGW002 & SLGW003 “White Birch Bark“

In addition to the “Genbi Valley,” Grand Seiko also introduced two more models in the style of the Evolution 9 series. Arriving in the form of an elegant dress watch, the new timepiece is outfitted with a striking “White Birch Bark” dial sporting a unique multi-dimensional texture that nods to the birch tree landscape in Shizukuishi, Iwate Prefecture — where the Grand Seiko studio is situated. Offered in two variants, the SLGW003 comes in a Brilliant Hard Titanium build with a retail price point of $10,700 USD, meanwhile, the 18k rose gold SLGW002 boasts a price tag of $45,000 USD and is limited to 80 examples. Both versions will be officially released at the start of August via Grand Seiko.
