AKILA Reels in Color With New Cool Calm Studios Collab
Marking their second collaboration.
With spring underway and summer to follow in the coming months, it’s time to break out new pairs of sunglasses. So to keep everyone equipped, Los Angeles-based eyewear brand, AKILA is tossing up new shades with Cool Calm Studios. With the new collection, AKILA not only links up with Cool Calm Studios for the second time, but also furthers its contemporary eyewear concept.
With the new collaboration, the brand is building on the momentum that started in 2022 with their first offering. This time around, AKILA and Cool Calm Studios introduce the Tangiers silhouette. The new co-designed frame fuses classic and contemporary style notes for a design inspired by Martin Scorsese’s Casino.
As such, the frame comes into fruition with an oversized 1990s silhouette that has a slightly square frame with rounded edges. Complimenting the nostalgic build are black, havana and brown/pink ombre frames with yellow, amber and pink lenses. finishing off the Tangiers silhouette are embossed quotes from the film.
