Audemars Piguet has opened its new AP House in Milan. Situated on Via Bagutta, one of the city’s most upscale neighborhoods, the retail space takes home in a newly renovated location that was formerly occupied by the iconic Garage Traversi which was designed by esteemed architect, Giuseppe De Min.

Back in 2017, the luxury Maison inaugurated its AP House concept with the opening of its Via Pietro Verrii space and has since expanded its presence across 19 global locations where its key clientele are based. With this new AP House Milano on Via Bagutta, the Maison aims to create bespoke experiences for its visitors, thus immersing them into the world of Audemars Piguet.

Architecture and interior design studio Lissoni & Partners lent a helping hand to bring the new AP House Milano to life for the prestigious watch manufacture. Nods to the Maison’s home base, Vallée de Joux are integrated throughout the 5-storeyed retail space, arriving in the form of glass, metal, and wooden elements. A Milanese twist is also implemented into the space’s overall aesthetics as an ode to the city’s rich history and heritage.

The ground floor serves as the first impression, welcoming visitors with a modernistic atmosphere at its entrance hallway. A solid ebony wall is fitted with lateral glass paneling, interplaying with optical illusions while paying homage to Audemars Piguet’s hallmarked Petite Tapisserie guilloché motif.

Synonymous with other AP Houses, the space is fitted with relaxing lounges, an exhibition space as well as a dedicated floor where visitors can observe watchmakers at work. Access to the individual floors is connected via a spiral staircase that subtly nods to the mainspring found in timepieces.

“The new AP House Milano brings a fresh and forward-thinking perspective to the initial AP House concept that started in Milan in 2017. It is an honor to open our new location in such a prestigious and iconic setting as the Garage Traversi, a location which reflects Audemars Piguet’s commitment to preserving and highlighting the local savoir-faire, past and present,” said Audemars Piguet’s Italy Country General Manager, Andrea Cardillo.
