Honoring Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse with sculpture-inspired design.
Summary
- Bugatti officially launches Programme Solitaire, a new one-of-one coachbuilding initiative
- First commission Brouillard honors Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse with sculpture-inspired design
- Only two Solitaire creations will be made per year, each entirely bespoke in body and interior
Update: Bugatti has officially unveiled Programme Solitaire, its ultra-exclusive one-of-one customization program, with the debut of its first commission: the Brouillard. Expanding on the brand’s legacy of coachbuilding and drawing inspiration from Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse of the same name, Brouillard introduces a new era of personalization that goes far beyond Sur Mesure. The 1,600 PS W16-powered Coupé features sculpture-like bodywork influenced by equine musculature, a cathedral-like glass roof, tartan fabrics, green-tinted carbon fiber and a gear shifter with a hand-crafted sculpture of Ettore’s horse embedded within.
Created for a passionate Bugatti collector, Brouillard channels the artistry of the Bugatti family—from Carlo’s furniture to Rembrandt’s bronze sculptures—into a singular automotive expression. Bugatti will build no more than two Solitaire commissions per year, each based on existing platforms but reimagined with entirely bespoke design and craftsmanship.
Original Story (August 5, 2025):
Bugatti is set to unveil a new chapter in its tradition of automotive excellence with the debut of an “ultra-exclusive one-of-one program” on August 7. Rooted in the brand’s historic approach to bespoke craftsmanship, the initiative draws inspiration from Jean Bugatti’s legacy of bringing coachbuilding in-house during the 1920s and ’30s, a move that led to iconic creations like the Type 57 SC Atlantic. This new program aims to revive that spirit, offering entirely custom vehicles tailored for the most discerning collectors.
The first creation under the program, dubbed “Solitaire,” will be revealed alongside the official announcement. Teased as a tribute to grace and elegance, the one-off car is said to embody the unique artistry and heritage that has defined Bugatti for more than a century. With this move, Bugatti continues its pursuit of singular automotive design, with an aim to elevate personalization to the highest level. Full details will be shared during the official launch on August 7, 2025.
