Update: It’s nearly time for the latest chapter of the Bike Air saga to be offered as the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Better With Time” hits shelves in just over a week. Nike has shared a complete look at the shoe, highlighting its weathered look and the special packaging that accompanies it. Look out for the shoe to arrive via Nike SNKRS on August 16 at an adjusted price point of $165 USD.
Update: First rumored last year, we got an early preview of Nigel Sylvester’s take on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG in late May. Now, the BMX superstar is back with an in-hand look at what to expect from the sneaker, which has since been named the “Better With Time” colorway. The new take features a predominantly black upper paired with off-white hits throughout. Distressing is found along the toe, heel, and lateral, nodding to the wear and tear created when not only bike riding, but investing time in art, friendships, careers, and more. A tentative launch date of August 2 was discussed previously, however, we remain without confirmation of its release timing. Original Story: Another collaboration between Jordan Brand and Nigel Sylvester is on its way. Heading to the low tops, Sylvester adds his touch to the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Nitro,” which is set to hit shelves later this summer. The BMX icon’s upcoming collaboration was revealed via Instagram account @SharKicks which teased the new colorway that sees the silhouette dressed in a black, muslin and varsity red color scheme. Purposeful scuffing hits the premium leather upper, giving it some added details pertaining to the skate and bike culture while the sail colored Swoosh gives it a more vintage aesthetic. The insoles and tongue branding sees Sylvester’s “Bike Air” logo in the red to contrast the white tongue and laces. The Wings logo hits the heel in white and “Jordan Biking Co. EST. 2017” is seen stamped on the liner. Look out for the pair expected to drop in early August.
