When it comes to Kobe Bryant-themed gear from Nike, the Swoosh continues to steadily expand its output, reaching far beyond the return of the late star’s signature shoes. New Nike Kobe Protro releases, Kobe-branded apparel, and even a Protro version of the Air Force 1 Low themed around Bryant have hit shelves this year.
Looking ahead to 2026, Nike is expected to maintain this momentum. A new rumor report from Sneaker Files indicates that the Dunk Low will be receiving the “Protro” treatment next year. While we lack a first look at the shoe, a speculative mock-up pictured here indicates what its “Fierce Purple/Blue Lagoon” look may arrive as, depicting it as a “Draft Day” pair that nods to Bryant being drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996. The inclusion of Protro in the title may mean that the shoe has been revamped with a “performance retro” build.
At the time of writing, Nike has not yet confirmed that a Kobe Bryant-themed Protro version of the Dunk Low will be releasing.
