Bad Bunny Brings 'DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS' to NPR's Tiny Desk
At last, Benito graces the NPR Headquarters for a long-awaited live set.
Bad Bunny has brought the spirit of Puerto Rico to Washington, D.C, gracing the NPR Music Tiny Desk stage with a live performance of his recent album and homage to his hometown: DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS.
Benito’s long-awaited Tiny Desk has been a long time coming, with fans begging for him to make an appearance on the series. Shot back in February, the singer’s set spans a series of five stripped-back songs from DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS, reimagined with the help of his backing band LoS SOBRiNOS, led by musical director and percussionist Julito Gastón and featuring Luis Irizarry, producer “Big Jay” Anthony, Krystal Santana, Emanuel Santana, Luis Sanz and Fabiola Méndez.
After opening with “PIToRRO DE COCO,” he transitioned into “VOY A LLeVARTE PA PR,” introducing the cut as a true taste of his hometown in between sips of his coffee. “The next song is so that — I don’t know how many people travel to Puerto Rico – I can take you there,” he says.
“I don’t know whose idea it was to give me this desk. It was mine, and I’m starting to regret it,” he jokes ahead of “KLOuFRENS,” which precedes “LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii” and “LA MuDANZA,” just ahead of a concise closing performance of “DtMF.” Find the full setlist in order below.
