Name: Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air”
Colorway: Black/Chile Red/Neutral Grey/Military Blue/Coconut Milk
SKU: IB8967-004
MSRP: $210 USD
Release Date: May 30
Where to Buy: Nike

Update: Last week we got our best look yet at the Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” and now Nike has officially unveiled the sneaker ahead of its May launch. As noted previously, it leans on the “Rare Air” theme — one that sees mixed up branding elements and detailing present as an homage to sample pairs with imperfections — with black, blue, gray, off-white, and red present throughout the sneaker. A special “Rare Air” sockliner completes the design as it remains set to drop on May 30 via Nike SNKRS and select storefronts at a price of $210 USD. For more info on the pair, review our previous coverage below.

Update: Jordan Brand is officially launching its new “Rare Air” campaign — drawing inspiration from the imperfections found on sample shoes — this week as both of its thematic Air Jordan 1 High OGs are set to hit the market on Saturday. However, there’s plenty more “Rare Air” to come, including this Air Jordan 3 that we first previewed back in September of last year. Our second look at the shoe not only inspects the black, red, gray, blue, and off-white color scheme in greater detail, but it highlights that the flipped Nike Air heel branding is present on only the right shoe. A scheduled release date of May 30 has been set, with the pair arriving via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $210 USD.

Original Story: As 2025 nears, we’re starting to piece together its release calendar as new pairs and rumors continue to pop up. For Jordan Brand, “Rare Air” pairs are scheduled to drop in the new year, involving not only the Air Jordan 4, which was rumored back in May and just surfaced recently, but the Air Jordan 3 as well.

Spotted just days ago, the Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” sports a similar composition to its Air Jordan 4 counterpart. However, rather than featuring removable branded tongue patches, this take on the silhouette sees flipped Nike Air branding in red present at the off-white heel. Elsewhere, it also combines a mostly black upper with blue and gray notes throughout. An additional hit of red appears at the tongue’s Jumpman logo while off-white rejoins the look at the midsole.

At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not shared any details regarding this “Rare Air” take on the Air Jordan 3. Stay tuned for updates, including a complete visual breakdown of the kicks, as we expect the pair to drop next summer via Nike SNKRS and select retailers around the $210 USD price point.
