Steven Yeun Returns to the 'Airbender' Universe in Paramount's Animated 'Avatar' Film
The actor was previously part of ‘The Legend of Korra.’
Steven Yeun has officially joined the cast of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ upcoming animated Aang Avatar movie.
Variety reports that the actor’s role and the extent of his involvement in the film are unclear as of writing. Yeun joins the likes of Dave Bautista, Eric Nam, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Román Zaragoza in the cast, with Lauren Montgomery serving as director and William Mata as co-director. The upcoming untitled film is based off Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, however plot details remain under wraps.
This will mark Yeun’s return to the Airbender universe following his previous work in The Legend of Korra, the sequel to The Last Airbender that saw him bring to life the character of Wan — the first Avatar in history.
