Update: Nike’s digital .SWOOSH platform introduced us to the retro gaming-inspired Air Max 1 Low Poly last year. The shoe launched via the Max’s Lab experience on .SWOOSH, which will be re-opening soon to bring forth a new area and special quest tied to the release of this Lara Croft-inspired “Adventure” colorway of the silhouette. This new chapter begins on Monday, February 24 at 1pm EST with three word puzzles to solve. Upon completion of this, you’ll unlock the chance to purchase the sneaker, which launches at 1pm EST on February 26. Hints for the puzzles are being shared via .SWOOSH’s social platforms in the coming days.
Looking closer at the sneaker itself, it features a low-poly gradient that ties to the sneaker’s rigid, retro-based geometry. Outside of its color scheme nodding to Croft, the pair also sports gaming references at both sides of the tongue — including a nod to the ESRB ratings that appear on video game covers — as well as the sockliner, which references an old Tomb Raider cheat code. The pair comes in special packaging, which we revealed in our unboxing video that is embedded below. For those who complete the quest in advance, the sneaker will drop on February 26 via .SWOOSH at a starting price of $150 USD.

Original Story: Shortly after Nike‘s unveiling of the Donkey Kong-inspired “Big Head Origins,” an image of yet another Nike Air Max 1 Low Poly has surfaced. The upcoming iteration is speculated to pay homage to none other than the Tomb Raider herself, Lara Croft. The first look image, shared by @bbbrycewong, showcases a white mesh base, gray overlays with pixelated detailing and dark green mudguards — possibly emulating the British archaeologist’s default outfit in the latest rebooted trilogy. The same green lands on the jagged panel swoosh and eyelets, as well as the branding on the tongue tag. It then rests on a white midsole with a visible Air Max unit and a Gum outsole for extra traction on adventures, while white laces tie it together for a clean finish.
