Dario Vitale’s debut as chief creative officer for VERSACE set the tone for the brand’s new era. The Italian designer succeeded Donatella Versace after she spent nearly 30 years at the helm of the brand. One of its Milan Fashion Week runway show’s most notable elements was the unveiling of VERSACE’s first collaboration with a footwear brand, teaming up with Onitsuka Tiger on two different styles presented across eight looks. ⁠

Onitsuka Tiger’s low-profile TAI-CHI model appeared first and has been carefully crafted with Italian materials at the Japanese brand’s factory in Sanin Tottori. The Tiger stripes are accompanied by VERSACE’s Medusa symbol while a vintage texture treatment hits the upper as well. This fusion of Japanese and Italian craftsmanship continued with a collaborative loafer that also appeared on the runway, reinforcing the prevalence of sneaker brand’s producing the style.
