Pharrell and NIGO Prove That a Bromance Is a Winning Combination for Louis Vuitton FW25

In the week leading up to the Pharrell Williams‘ Louis Vuitton show during the Fall/Winter 2025 Paris Fashion Week season, Skateboard P has been taking to Instagram to reveal what is to come for the new collection. Prior to the show, P dropped several hints that NIGO, his long-time friend and collaborator, will be joining forces with him for the FW25 season. The ButterSoft sneaker drew immense online buzz after Pharrell teased over 40 colorways all sporting the prominent LV branding on the midfoot. As the initial teaser, it gave audiences a glimpse at what would inspire the new collection, drawing parallels from his Ice Cream Boardflip silhouette from the mid ’00s while others noted similarities to the Nike Cortez.
Leaning back to the Y2K skatewear era, the collection sees Pharrell and NIGO return to an era that they helped grow two decades ago. Proving their relevance and longevity in the industry, it is only fitting that the collection be shown in the Louvre Museum. Just like artefacts in a museum, which mark a moment in time that changed history, one can argue that NIGO and Pharrell’s impact on bridging skatewear to a global luxury stage is one for the books. Several teasers showcased a variety of Y2K-inspired varsity jackets, bringing back the collegiate look for the collection. Stepping away from the cowboy era, Pharrell brings his love for vibrant graphics to the latest season, tapping into his past inspirations to bring forward a new collection for the masses. Y2K references are personal this time around, coming in the form of flip phone key chains and more.
In the latest Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall/Winter 2025 Collection By Pharrell Williams and NIGO, aptly titled, “Remember the Future,” Pharrel and NIGO understand that in order to move forward, you sometimes have to look back. Pharrell and NIGO’s friendship and creative partnership dates back decades and this collection proposes a symbiosis between an archivist and a point of reference. NIGO brings his vast archives of 20th century workwear to inform the collection which is led by Pharrell’s stylistic expression. The collection is a cross-pollination between the two collaborators, LV’s heritage and modern LVERS philosophy.
Set in the Louvre Museum, guests arrive at the show by walking upon a rolled out Louis Vuitton branded carpet. Setting the scene, guests are seated around a rotunda where a live orchestra is suspended in the center. Vault-like structures are placed around the entirety of the runway and saw models weave in and out in the latest collection. Famous stars and house ambassadors like Callum Turner, J-Hope, Idris Elba, Chris Paul, Victor Wembanyama, Travis Scott and more showed up to see the collection which featured a string of motifs. LV ambassador, J-Hope debuted new track with Don Toliver on the runway. Those with a keen eye will recognize a lobster accessory. Apparently, on Pharrell and NIGO’s trip to Japan, the two went fishing and unexpectedly caught a lobster.
The entirety of the collection was a nod to the duo’s relationship over time. From bringing NIGO’s passion for functional workwear that included transformed chore jackets into knitwear pieces and NIGO’s signature trucker hat, to Pharrell’s interpretation of the house of Louis Vuitton’s archives, the the collection is a time-lapse of the two creators. The “Future Archives” pieces completely embody the two’s friendship, bringing together both Pharrell and NIGO’s faces in the form of silhouettes celebrated on key accessories and clothing. As the two brothers took their final bow and lap around the rotunda, the illuminated structures revealed a treasure trove of collectibles and clothing from NIGO and Pharrell’s private archives. These pieces will be made available to purchase at auction on JOOPITER later this week.
