Update: James Harden and adidas Basketball are ready for the Harden Vol. 9 to make its debut this week as the duo is set to drop their lead “Cyber Metallic” colorway. Harden’s been wearing the new silhouette for the past month as he and the Los Angeles Clippers have held a spot in the top five of the NBA’s Western Conference. It comes equipped with another sleek profile that features grid-mesh ventilation for breathability. As for its court-ready sole unit, BOOST and Lightstrike combine for full-length “Lightboost” at the midsole while the outsole carries a multidirectional traction pattern that supports swift changes in direction. “You can put on a fit with them and look fly at dinner or rock them on the court and drop 40,” shares Harden. The new sneaker debuts on shelves this week on January 25 via adidas and select retailers at a starting price of $160 USD. Update: It’s been a few months since visuals of the upcoming adidas Harden Vol. 9 first hit the net. Now, adidas and James Harden have finally provided an update on their new signature shoe together as Harden took the court last night against the Utah Jazz wearing the “Cyber Metallic” colorway of the silhouette. He notched a 41-point performance in just 31 minutes of play as the Los Angeles Clippers dominated the Jazz, proving that the sneaker is ready for action. While we await a full reveal of its design inspiration and technical specifications, adidas has noted that the new model will be arriving next month in various colorways. Original Story: We’re officially less than a week away from the start of the 2024-25 NBA season and it’s shaping up to be yet another exciting year for basketball. For James Harden specifically, he’ll be taking on a bigger role with the Los Angeles Clippers since Paul George signed with the Philadelphia 76ers during the offseason.

The veteran guard is expected to sport the adidas Harden Vol. 8 at the start of the season, though it may not be long until he debuts the adidas Harden Vol. 9 as adidas has shared officially imagery of the not-yet-announced kicks. We actually caught a first look at a sample design of the Harden Vol. 9 back in January, before the Harden Vol. 8 was even officially introduced, and this new set of pictures confirms that Harden’s latest signature shoe will sport another unique upper. Appearing initially in “Cloud White” and “Cyber Metallic” colorways that combine their primary hue with a black base, crescent-shaped Three Stripe cut-outs adorn each side of the shoe, covering a majority of the upper. Harden’s logo is embossed at the heel while a traditional set of Three Stripes reaches from the heel of the sole to the uppermost portion of the midsole.
At the time of writing, adidas and James Harden have not officially revealed any details surrounding the upcoming adidas Harden Vol. 9. Stay tuned for updates, including a complete rundown of the new model’s specifications, as we currently expect the sneaker to launch sometime around the NBA All-Star Break, as the Harden Vol. 8 did this year in mid-February, via adidas and select retailers at a starting price of $160 USD.
