The teaming up of Kyrie Irving and Chinese sportswear brand ANTA was a key storyline to follow in the basketball shoe scene last year. The duo started off their run by introducing the ANTA KAI 1 and further elaborated upon their partnership by introducing lifestyle looks as well. Kicking off the new year, ANTA is gearing up to drop the Hélà Style in a new “Chief Hélà” colorway.
Kyrie Irving’s “Chief Hélà” theme first graced the ANTA KAI 1 back in October of last year and now finds itself present across his Hélà Style, Irving’s model for everyday use. Drawing inspiration from the indigenous Native roots of Irving’s mother, his Lakota name “Hélà” is again paid tribute to as well. A rich brown suede is utilized throughout the upper, pairing it with Native-inspired detailing like the tassels found at the heel of the shoe. “Every step I take in my journey honors my ancestors and the strength they’ve passed down to me. [This] shoe is more than just a design; it’s a tribute to where I come from and a symbol of unity and progress,” shares Irving.
