Carhartt WIP SS25 Is "Anchored in the Archives"
A cohesive, contemporary recreation of the imprint’s storied silhouettes, dipped in a palette of prints, patterns and textures.
Carhartt WIP has opened up its imminent lookbook for the Spring/Summer 2025 season. Rooted in releases past, the Carhartt WIP Spring/Summer 2025 collection, in the words of the brand itself, is “anchored in the archives,” offering up a contemporary reenvisioning of some of the brand’s archetypal silhouettes.
The cohesive compilation of garments and accessories is lengthy, set to release in three individual drops. The curation lifts style inspiration from all pillars of WIP’s workwear-influenced design eras, including vintage 1990s-style denim and chambray, campus-inspired sportswear, heavyweight overshirts and textured, tailored jacketing.
An amalgamation of different denim weights and washes are scattered about, with dark-washed denim and overshirts contrasted with stone-washed and lighter wash pieces. Collection standouts include the OG Active Jacket and Classic Vest, which both land in the new stone-dyed wash, resulting in a faded facade. Elsewhere, pieces such as the Blake Pullover, Blake Pant, and Coach Jacket take to a more Trompe-l’œil effect, dipped in a denim-like appearance but actually embodying a soft, rather lightweight chambray construction.
Collegiate-inspired motifs are also a prominent part of the drop, as exemplified by the embroidered Flags Rugby Sweatshirt and Hooded WIP Sweat Jacket, the latter of which is adorned with appliqué lettering. Patterned pieces also pop amidst the range, with the label leaning into loud prints and vibrant colorways for a plethora of the collection’s components including striking pink and red-hued hoodies as well as graphic tees and jerseys. The Women’s Tarbell Skirt and matching top each come dipped in allover checks, while the Irwin Vest and Jacket come doused in duck camo.
