Jordan Brand is going all out for the Year of the Snake as its annual Lunar New Year collection again involves many thematic sneakers. On top of the six shoes discussed previously, the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Xuanwu” has just been revealed as the brand’s most premium entry in the collection.
Drawing inspiration from Chinese mythology, this colorway begins with a white leather base that rests next to a black collar. From there, the rest of the shoe is far from ordinary. The overlays situated at the forefoot and collar feature a snakeskin-like texture that hosts black and gold throughout. As for the Swoosh, Wings logo and heel details, the three favor a thematic texture with a brown and orange backdrop. A similar combination of colors is present at the semi-translucent outsole that rests beneath a plain off-white midsole. A premium set of leather rope laces are present while the interior of the tongue completes the shoe by including a note that indicates its unit number out of 3,399 total pairs.
At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not officially announced its release plans for this “Xuanwu” colorway of the Air Jordan 1 High OG. Stay tuned for updates as we currently expect it to drop within the next month or two as an exclusive to China via Nike SNKRS at a price point equivalent to $355 USD.
