Update: At the end of July, SAN SAN GEAR officially announced its first collaboration with ASICS, taking on the newly-introduced GEL-TERRAIN in three different colorways that have been outlined below. Following that, we now have a complete preview of the kicks as they’re set to release in South Korea on August 9 at a price of ₩209,000 KRW (approx. $152 USD) each.

Original Story: Rising South Korean label SAN SAN GEAR has quickly made its mark on the domestic scene with its penchant for paneling and technical detailing. While the brand continues to scale globally, its debut project with ASICS is set to introduce eyes from around the world.

Earlier this year, SAN SAN GEAR presented its Spring/Summer 2024 lookbook for its “SCOPE” collection. Now, it turns out that it wasn’t just a new range of apparel that the brand revealed — a collaboration with ASICS was teased as well. Three colorways of the newly-introduced GEL-TERRAIN were subtly featured throughout the looks (close-ups displayed above). Between this initial preview and the video trailer that was just shared, several key details have been highlighted. First, the color compositions vary from black with blue detailing to various grays joined by a bright green and then a pair with green layers backed by hits of black and brown. From there, the shoe’s typical toggle lacing system is present while “SAN SAN GEAR” branding adorns the lateral heel.
SAN SAN GEAR and ASICS have shared that their three-part GEL-TERRAIN collaboration will debut on shelves in South Korea via SAN SAN GEAR on August 9.
