Teenage Engineering Launches Medieval-Themed EP–1320
Equipped with a large library of sounds ranging from hurdy gurdys, lutes, Gregorian chants to thundering drums.

Following the launch of the EP–133 K.O. II, Teenage Engineering is back with a new offering that boasts an unexpected twist. Introducing the EP-1320 Medieval, this new sampler, sequencer and composer as its name suggests, features a Medieval theme.
Equipped with hundreds of medieval sounds and samples, ranging from hurdy gurdys, lutes, bagpipes, Gregorian chants, thundering drums and coconut hore hooves. The machine is also geared with various foley and sound effects that make the listener feel as if they’re situated in a sword duel, witchy rituals, or amidst a battle with an ancient dragon. The EP-1320 also allows the user to sample their own sounds through the internal microphone as well as the line input.
In terms of appearance, the machine doesn’t disappoint. While it carries the general look and layout of any EP series offering, its color palette, graphic design and font all befit its Dark-Age aesthetic. Dark green, muddy brown and sage green make up the overall color scheme, while white and vermillion red are added to accented hues. The usual keys and indications now arrive in a Gothic font, and instead of English, it’s written in Latin. The words “instrumentalis electronicum,” which translates to “electronic instrument,” are also inscribed on the machine.
The EP-1320 Medieval also comes in equally on-themed packaging. At a glance, the outer packaging resembles a large hardback book with Medieval-style illustrations, depicting a character fiddling with the sampler, while a miniature humanoid creature performs music around him. In addition, Teenage Engineering also releases other Medieval-themed products, including a quilted bag for carrying the sample, a T-shirt, a keychain and a special vinyl.
Priced at $299 USD, the EP-1320 Medieval is currently available to order through Teenage Engineering’s official webstore.
