Razer Unveils the Clio X, a USD Wireless Speaker Head Cushion for Gaming Chairs

Razer unveiled the brand-new Razer Clio X at PAX West 2026. This hardware addition is a dedicated head cushion with a built-in wireless speaker. Priced at $109.99 USD, the new model costs less than half the price of the original $230 USD Razer Clio. The lower price point offers an affordable entry for users upgrading their hardware. Headset-free 3D sound eliminates the physical fatigue that comes with wearing traditional headphones during marathon sessions.

Engineered for maximum compatibility, the Clio X attaches directly to the headrest of all Razer gaming chairs using an adjustable nylon strap. External power is required to keep the aesthetic sleek, and the unit must be plugged into a 15W USB-C power source. Razer recommends utilizing a PD2.0 power source to drive the audio because relying on non-PD sources will limit power draw and cap maximum volume. Portable power banks with a capacity of at least 10,000mAh are advised for gamers opting for a completely untethered setup.

A redesigned internal acoustic architecture maintains performance levels found in the previous model. While the flagship Clio utilized 43mm aluminum cone drivers, this streamlined iteration packs two 38mm near-field loudspeakers angled toward the user’s ears. Two 55mm passive radiators ensure audio depth is not lost during the transition. This precise layout provides immersive audio while maintaining a compact form factor.

Beyond raw hardware, localized software integration pushes spatial boundaries. THX Spatial Audio converts standard stereo surround sound into a 360-degree audio environment. Low-latency HyperSpeed 2.4 GHz wireless technology links the speaker directly to computers to ensure tactical sound cues never lag. Connecting the Clio X to a soundbar is an option for expanded audio. Genuine audio immersion is achieved without the physical exhaustion of traditional headwear.
