The ASICS Skyhand OG was first introduced in the early ‘90s as a handball shoe. While the model has fallen out of fashion for decades, ASICS has decided to reboot the silhouette. Following the HAY-collaborated colorful models, the sportswear brand has since released other retro-coded colorways such as “Dark Neptune” and “Black Coffee.”
This latest addition to the revived silhouette sees an understated and failsafe “Pale Oak/Cream” variant that perfectly upholds the model’s vintage appeal. Featuring a mixed upper, the entire boasts a tonal appearance across its synthetic leather, suede and mesh components. Most of the upper arrive in a smooth leathery finish, while the lace guard boasts a suede fabrication with mesh making up the tongue.
The Skyhand lettering dresses the lateral heel, whereas, near-invisible ASICS logos adorn the back of the heels. All of this sits atop a dark brown rubber outsole for striking yet vintage-esque color contrast.
