Latto Pays Tribute to Atlanta in Trailer for New LP, 'Sugar Honey Iced Tea'
Tapping 2 Chainz and T.I. to feature in the first look at her third studio album.
Big Latto is continuing on her hot streak. After serving up two solid singles so far this year – “Sunday Service” and “Big Mama” – the rapper has solidified a release date for her third studio album: a homage to Atlanta aptly dubbed Sugar Honey Iced Tea.
Latto unveiled the first look at the forthcoming project as well, dropping off a trailer featuring fellow Atlanta rappers 2 Chainz and T.I. The minute-and-a-half clip is backed by narration from Big Rube, which chronicles Latto’s come-up to her citywide (and now worldwide…) takeover.
“A young queen rises. A crown gleaming in the Georgia son. Spitting bars on the playground” Rube states in the opening.
“Now the ATL skies lit by her ascension. A testament to her hustle. Her skill can’t go unmentioned. A peach in the orchard – so sweet, so strong. The essence of Atlanta embraced in every song.”
“Her influence is almost more than words can define it to be. Big Latto is the next generation – a leading lady of Atlanta’s rap dynasty,” he closes out.
A few unreleased track snippets can be heard throughout the clip, though details, aside from next month’s release date, remain slim.
