First Trailer for Timothée Chalamet's Bob Dylan Biopic Revealed
The film comes to theaters this December.
The first trailer for the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown starring Timothée Chalamet has been released. The highly anticipated film features Chalamet as the legendary folk singer-songwriter alongside Monica Barbaro and Elle Fanning.
Directed by James Mangold and written by Mangold and Jay Cocks, the film focuses on Dylan’s early days as a singer in New York City up until his iconic 1965 Newport Folk Festival performance. The trailer starts with a glimpse of culture-shaping NYC staple Hotel Chelsea which Dylan and many other musical legends of the time were known to frequent. From then we get many shots of Chalamet walking the streets of 1960s New York City while Chalamet’s rendition of the 1963 song “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall” plays. The iconic Cafe Wha? can also be spotted as Chalamet walks by with his guitar case in hand.
The second half of the trailer teases a love triangle between Barbaro’s Joan Baez and Fanning’s Suze Rotolo, Dylan’s former girlfriend. Towards the end, Chalamet reaches his final form, embodying the iconic and instantly recognizable Dylan look complete with longer hair and sunglasses.
