MILER RUNNING is rooted in New York City, but for its third “permanent collection” — a perennial offering of high-end athletic goods that already includes the “Base” and “Work” collections — it’s saying goodbye to the pavement and hello to the trails. The brand’s new “Dirt” assemblage is a three-piece offering of trail running garments that bring its signature aesthetic into a new sphere, with pieces created specifically to meet the needs of hardcore off-road runners.
Designed and tested over a 12-month period, the “Dirt” collection includes a shirt and tank, both with half-zip details, as well as a 2-in-1 short. Each piece is made in New York City, and constructed of a unique material mix: Cordura nylon woven in France and VentGrid nylon in high-sweat zones for enhanced breathability and moisture-wicking. UPF 50+ ratings on each piece ensure UV protection, while bonded seams and hems reduce chafing. These material choices were made to solve apparel problems unique to trail running — for example, the Cordura fabric used on both shirts resists the pilling usually caused by the abrasion of a hydration vest.
Other key details seen across the collection include the shorts’ belted waistband and array of stash pockets, the tops’ extended collars to ensure sun resistance and further reduce chafing, collar zippers to allow enhanced breathability in hot weather and featherweight constructions (the tee and tank weigh less than 90 and 70 grams, respectively).
Expect the MILER RUNNING “Dirt” collection to release via the brand’s webstore on Friday, July 26 at 9 AM ET, with email subscribers receiving a 24-hour early access window before the release. The tee is priced at $140 USD, tank at $130 USD and shorts at $180 USD.
