Drake's Upcoming Gordo Collab Has an Official Release Date
Appearing in Gordo’s new album ‘Diamante’ arriving this week.
Earlier this summer, producer Gordo took to Instagram Story to tease a potential new collaboration with Drake. Now, fans have their confirmation for the anticipated track. The duo have worked together in the past on some of the biggest songs including “Sticky,” “Massive,” and “Rich Baby Daddy.” Gordo played a huge part on Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind which became Apple Music’s biggest dance album ever within the first hour of releasing and breaking the streaming platform’s record for first-day streams around te world at that time.
Gordo has now taken to his Instagram to post the full tracklist of his new album Diamante. The second track of the album appears to feature the Drake collaboration, a track titled “Sideways.” Not only is he featured on the album but Drake is reportedly a consultant on the overall album. In a recent feature in Rolling Stone, Gordo said of Drake’s influence on the album, “This is it, and this is what you should listen to, this is what I listen to and this is an incredible piece of work. He rides for me that heavy and he’s letting the world know that, then that says a lot.” Of the album, Gordo promises fans that it offers a wide range of genres and features big names like Feid, T-Pain, Leon Bridges, Maluma and more.
In the interview, Gordo also touched on the current Kendrick Lamar v. Drake battle and what it means for the rapper’s legacy, “F**k all the bullshit to the side with everything that’s happening right now. Drake is Drake, right.” So far the entire tracklist except for the final song has been revealed, leaving fans to guess if Drake will be making a second appearance on the album.
