After a two-year hiatus following the release of her Getaway EP and an opening slot on Daniel Caesar’s “Superpowers” world tour, singer/songwriter Orion Sun has returned with a new single titled “Already Gone.”
Orion Sun returns to music with a new single, “Already Gone.” The singer-songwriter embraces her ethereal sound on this track with soft, angelic vocals. This single follows a two-year hiatus after the release of her first EP, Getaway, in which she opened for Daniel Caesar’s Superpowers World Tour.
An ethereal track with soft, angelic vocals’ “Already Gone” sees Sun dive into her life’s plans and her realization that — through a breakup — they could crumble in an instant. “Got ahead of me but I was catching up. Got there and you were already gone,” she croons. This vibe translates into the track’s music video, which shows Sun spotlighted against a tree, with plenty of artistic mood lighting and shots both wide and cropped.
“It’s about that first night alone when your partner moves out and it’s obvious nothing will ever be the same,” she said, speaking on the track. “You try to change it or fix it or run from it but you have to come home eventually. The silence becomes heavy like water. Everything was a task. Everything was hard. I was holding on to hope like a life raft. Only in retrospect is it kind of funny. It seems dramatic and annoying, but it was so true to me then.”
