Generally speaking, the New Balance 550, more often than not, features subtle expressions, primarily with white leather uppers and just touches of color — like recent releases. However, the latest for this silhouette follows suit of the recently revealed patent leather trio but with a lot more color.

In a nod to the early 2000s, the latest for the 550 features intense color blocking and shiny patent leather construction — a style that was brought to the global stage via NIGO‘s early BAPESTA designs from A Bathing Ape.

These vibrant 550s come in two distinct styles, one featuring a combination of neon green, light pink and yellow patent leather, complemented by a dark pink outsole and yellow laces. The other pair features a bold pink and red upper construction, complemented by accents of light blue at the midsole, laces, heel and “N” logo — all sitting on top of a dark brown outsole.

At the time of writing, the price and specific release dates have not yet been confirmed. However, based on the color and previous patent 550 releases, it is assumed that these two will be released as part of the spring-summer season for a retail price of $120 USD via New Balance’s official site.
