As the week in music comes to a close, Hypebeast has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.

This week’s lineup is led by ScHoolboy Q and Miley Cyrus with Pharrell, who each delivered the album BLUE LIPS and the joint single “Doctor (Work It Out).” Also joining this selection are offerings from Teezo Touchdown, Quavo, HOMESHAKE, Charli XCX and Matt Champion, as well as collaborations from Skepta with Portable, Rico Nasty with Boys Noize and SG Lewis with Chloé Caillet.

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS

ScHoolboy Q is back with BLUE LIPS, his first full-length release since 2019’s CrasH Talk. The innovative and introspective 18-track project features guest appearances from Rico Nasty, Devin Malik, Lance Skiiiwalker, Freddie Gibbs, Ab-Soul, Jozzy and Childish Major, as well as production work from the likes of The Alchemist, Cardo Got Wings, Luciano, Tae Beast, Malik and more.

Miley Cyrus x Pharrell – “Doctor (Work It Out)”

Miley Cyrus and Pharrell finally deliver their long-awaited collab “Doctor (Work It Out).” Rumored to have been created over a decade ago for Cyrus’ 2013 album Bangerz, the new joint is a funky pop-rock effort that marries Cyrus’ full-toned vocal prowess and Pharrell’s sleek yet captivating production work.

Teezo Touchdown – “Making Flippy Floppy”

Teezo Touchdown unveils his effort for the A24 Music compilation Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense. He joins the likes of Paramore, Kevin Abstract and more with his contribution, which is his own version of “Making Flippy Floppy.”

Quavo – “Himothy”

Quavo debuts an accompanying music video for his latest single “Himothy.” The visual was filmed on top of Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and sees the Migos rapper pay homage to his late nephew, Takeoff, with a massive “Long Live Takeoff” banner hung on the stadium wall.

Charli XCX – “Von Dutch”

Shortly after her Boiler Room set, Charli XCX unveiled the chaotic visual for “Von Dutch.” The track leads her upcoming album Brat, which she describes is a “club record,” adding, ​​“i was born to make dance music.. i came from the clubs.. xcx6 is the album i’ve always wanted to make.”

Matt Champion – “Slug”

BROCKHAMPTON staple Matt Champion continues his steady stream of solo releases with the latest single “Slug.” The track follows “Aphid” with Dijon and arrives with a music video filled with sci-fi-inspired choreography.

Skepta x Portable – “Tony Montana”

Skepta joins forces with Nigerian artist Portable for the single “Tony Montana.” Produced by Jae5, the latest offering is a blend of the two artists’ distinct sounds, and arrives with an accompanying music video that sees the pair party at The Savoy.

Rico Nasty x Boys Noize – “Arintintin”

Rico Nasty and Boys Noize officially announce their upcoming dance/techno-clash EP HARDC0RE DR3AMZ, out March 29, with their debut single “Arintintin.” The forthcoming project promises to “defy genre, expectation and creative boundaries” — with the preview of “Arintintin” already proving the promise to be true.

HOMESHAKE – “Basement”

Peter Sagar’s HOMESHAKE drops his latest single “Basement,” which is set to appear on his upcoming album CD Wallet (out March 8). The latest track is described by the artist as “an homage to the idea of the home basement,” which he states is both a place to hang out at and the starting point of every band he’s played in since he was a teenager.

SG Lewis x Chloé Caillet – “Costa”

SG Lewis announces his new record label, Forever Days, and dropped off the single “Costa” with Chloé Caillet. “For a long time now, I have wanted to create an outlet for the club focused music I am constantly creating, and a place to champion music by artists that I love – music made strictly for the dance floor, with the sole ambition of creating more of these euphoric moments. It is for that reason that I am beyond excited to announce the birth of my record label – ‘Forever Days,’” he says in a statement. “Music for the days and nights that last forever in our memory. I have never been this excited about anything in my entire life. I can’t wait to show you all the music we have ready, and to create some Forever Days for all of us.”
