Grace Ling Wins First CFDA and Genesis AAPI Innovation Grant
Receiving an additional $60,000 USD.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Genesis have selected Grace Ling as the winner of its first AAPI Design + Innovation Grant.
The rising designer stood out amongst other celebrated emerging designers including Haoron Li and Siying Qu of Private Policy, Andrew Kwon. For the grant, the participants were tasked with creating a bespoke collection that showcases the balance and tension between their Asian heritage and modernity. As its winner, Ling received an additional $60,000 USD from the collaborative grant, which brings her total award to $100,000 USD.
“I am very honored to be the recipient of Genesis House’s first AAPI Innovation Grant with CFDA,” said Ling. “It is a privilege to be able to combine modernity, heritage and innovation in my practice, and this has given me the opportunity to do so. Genesis House is very inspiring in these aspects and I look forward to taking these values with me in my future work.”
The collections from the three participants were revealed yesterday at Genesis House in New York City. The bespoke collections are set to be on display from February 9 – March 3. With the win, Ling adds to her growing label, which just held its debut runway show last September during New York Fashion Week.
