Gentle Monster recently revealed a short video on its Instagram, teasing the opening of its Aoyama store, which will be the brand’s first flagship in Japan.

The fully animated teaser video opens up with a mood shot featuring the Tokyo Tower followed by the impending arrival of a mysterious spaceship. The sci-fi atmosphere is amplified when a schoolgirl figure comes into contact with a gargantuan robot-like extraterrestrial being. Another cyborg-like character was also teased, whose body is imprinted with the Gentle Monster branding.

The video is accompanied by the narration in Japanese, which roughly translates to “A new world opens up here where we land” — giving hints to the mood that the brand is planning to create with the new Tokyo store. Closing out the teaser, the viewer is welcomed with various shots of a colossal robot head, which appears to be a reimagining of Gentle Monster’s two-meter-tall giant robotic face sculpture.

Set to open its doors on March 14, the new Gentle Monster flagship will be located in Tokyo’s snazzy and high-end Aoyama district. In the meantime, check out the teaser video below.
