OMEGA Expands the Constellation Collection With Meteorite Dials
Available in case sizes from 25mm – 41mm.
The Constellation Collection is one of OMEGA’s most prized series with a history that dates back to the early 1950s. With the latest releases, the brand continues to expand on the stars-inspired range with 20 new models, all fitted with Muonionalusta meteorite dials.
An ancient material from outer space, the Muonionalusta meteorite is believed to be over 4.5 billion years old and is one of the oldest meteorites known to mankind on Earth. Due to the nature of the material, no two dials are identical due to the unique textures and patterns of the meteorite fragments.
The new timepieces are offered in a range of case sizes, spanning 25mm, 28mm, 29mm and 41mm. The smaller sizes all feature pavé diamond bezels and indices, arriving in an array of builds and color treatments. This goes from stainless steel, 18k yellow gold to 18k Sedna™ Gold in both tonal and bi-color designs. The 29mm model can be differentiated with a circular date 6 o’clock date window and an open caseback.
Similarly, the 41 mm watch also features a transparent caseback, but its watch face comes in a rather different design. Its date window boasts a slightly more trapezoid shape, its indices in polished claw-shaped appliqués, complete with Roman Numerals on the bezels.
The 25mm and 28mm references are both powered by OMEGA’s 4061 in-house caliber, while the 29mm and 41mm versions are equipped with the METAS-certified Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8900. Stamped Constellation Observatory medallions can also be found on the casebacks of the smaller-sized watches, which nods to the collection’s inspiration as well as history with space exploration.
