EARTHGANG Unveils First Independently Released Project, 'PERFECT FANTASY'
Inspired by AI’s effects on modern society, the album marks the group’s final chapter in their ‘EARTHGANG vs. The Algorithm’ series.
With summer’s SNAKEGANG in the rearview, EARTHGANG has lifted the curtain on its new LP PERFECT FANTASY – which also marks the hip hop duo’s first independently released long-form project. Bolstered by features from Little Dragon, Pharrell, T-Pain, Cochise and Snoop Dogg, PERFECT FANTASY encapsulates the energy of today’s technology-infused society into a cohesive and chaotic-good sonic offering.
Specifically influenced by the role of AI in the cultural zeitgeist, PERFECT FANTASY presents a diverse 18-track lineup and is set to be the duo’s final iteration of its EARTHGANG vs. The Algorithm series, which began in 2023 with RIP Human Art.
Per a press release, the album looks to reimagine a “Y2K-inspired version of the future where tech is fun again,” as opposed to today’s dystopian and divisive “impersonal data algorithm.”
Elsewhere in the lineup, the LP comes loaded with contributions from Damon Albarn, Eric Bellinger, Benji, Tommy Newport and Rama Osman.
