Is a New Nike Kobe x Nike SB Project on the Way?
A new rumor indicates that the two teams are reuniting.
Countless brands and teams make up the behemoth that is Nike — whether it be sport-based divisions or special collaborative lines, each area offers something different. On rare occasion, these various branches intertwine for special projects. In 2023, the most notable footwear-based occasion of this involved Nike SB and Jordan Brand reconnecting for a collaborative take on the Air Jordan 4, a release that was celebrated as one of the best from the industry last year.
Looking ahead to later in 2024, or perhaps even further out, a new post from reputable sneaker leaker Masterchefian has prompted a rumor of an exciting team-up between the recently-revived Nike Kobe division and Nike SB. While no claim was made about what’s to come, a combination of the two brands’ logos and the hashtags of “nike”, “sb”, “kobe” and “sneakers” all point in one direction — a new sneaker from the duo is possibly coming. It wouldn’t be the first time the two joined forces as back in 2011, they hosted a charity raffle of a special Nike SB Kobe x Koston sneaker. However, nothing is currently known about what may come from this new design.
