Eight seasons in and New York-based label Who Decides War is only refining its core denim philosophy – one that has caught the attention of not just the fashion space but popular culture as well. To keep it going, leaders Everard Best and Tela D’Amore turned to the tailor shop for its new Spring/Summer 2024 collection.

Unveiled during New York Fashion Week, the “ALTERATIONS CONSULTANTS” show pays homage to his father’s tailor shop of the same name, which resided in Long Island during the 90s and early 2000s. So in fulfilling both their own dreams and those of Best’s father, the duo’s new collection represents their first full offering of womenswear alongside a complete range of products.

Of course, the range tosses up WDW’s focal denim jackets in jackets with new iterations of its stained glass window motif alongside remixed embellishments and distressed detailing. But the same attention towards finding new ways to subvert denim appears through long-sleeved polos, sleeveless tops and a dusty-tone patchwork set comprised of a long skirt, bandeau top and detached sleeves.

Special collection highlights include remixed fabric tailoring like an eye-catching reconstructed deep navy suit with white stitching, a black leather asymmetrical zip jacket with a matching mini skirt and a hybridized contemporary multi-fabric gown in dusty green and champagne tones.

“This collection is particularly special because it focuses in on the tailoring notes that Ev saw throughout his childhood, growing up in his father’s tailor shop. It was our first full range of products, down to accessories and footwear. We pushed the conversation further of what we can put forth as a brand, and we are more focused now than ever,” said D’Amore and Best.

Take a look at the brand’s SS24 collection in the gallery above, and stay tuned to Hypebeast for more New York Fashion Week coverage.
