Dame D.O.L.L.A. (a.k.a. Damian Lillard) Links With Tobe Nwigwe for “Paid In Full” Video
Featuring a familiar face from the 2002 film of the same name.
Dame D.O.L.L.A – Damian Lillard‘s off-court rapper alias – has dropped off the latest music video from his recent album Don D.O.L.L.A. In the “Paid In Full” video, Lillard enlists the track’s featured artist Tobe Nwigwe, as well as Cam’ron, who starred in the Paid In Full film that inspired the video.
“This that meet me outside, this that family ’til I die / This that MJ 45, run the bases and I’m back / This that travel, never pack, fill the jet with Louis bags / This that happy that they mad, we too rich out here to flash,” the rapper spits on the chorus.
“Paid In Full”‘s video is a modern homage to the eponymous early aught’s crime film that stars Wood Harris as Ace and Mekhi Phifer as Mitch; the video sees Lillard resembling the Ace as he paces through the laundromat, and Nwigwe emulating Mitch as he pulls up to the scene in a convertible – rocking a signature mint green ‘fit and with his wife Fat Nwigwe in the passenger seat. Nwigwe shouts Fat in the first lines of his verse – “Please excuse the way I enter, got four kids out the placenta / Of the woman who’s the center of all that’s within me.” Cam’ron, who played Rico in the 2002 film, makes an appearance in the video as well. This is Nwigwe’s second recent musical venture with an NBA star, having dropped off the visuals “Lil Fish, Big Pond” last month starring Steph Curry; the track also appeared in Apple TV+‘s Underrated documentary about Curry’s life and career.
Check out our recent interview with Nwigwe himself, and in other music news, Lil Wayne has officially announced his next project, entitled Tha Fix Before Tha VI.
