Update: After dropping off first-look images earlier on Tuesday, Warner Bros. revealed the official trailer for Wonka, the upcoming prequel film to Roald Dahl’s classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Timothée Chalamet. From director Paul King, the forthcoming film is billed to be “an intoxicating mix of magic and music, mayhem and emotion, all told with fabulous heart and humor.”

According to the official synopsis, “This irresistibly vivid and inventive big screen spectacle will introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time—proving that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you’re lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible.”

Simon Farnaby and Paul King wrote the screenplay, based on a story by King and characters created by Dahl. Executive producers include Michael Siegel, Cate Adams, Rosie Alison and Tim Wellspring.

Wonka is scheduled to premiere on December 15. Watch the official trailer above.

Original Story: Anticipation is high for Warner Bros. prequel film Wonka starring Timothée Chalamet, seeing fans worldwide eager for a first look. While we’ve already seen Chalamet in costume, we now glimpse the stars in action.

The first and only image revealed shows Timothée Chalamet as the mischievous lead chocolatier, conversing with Hugh Grant, one of Wonka’s Oompa Loompas. Chalamet sits at his desk wearing a striped shirt and puffed scarf, while Grant appears as a 20-inch-tall orange-faced Oompa Loompa. He is dressed in classic Oompa Loompa uniform featuring a petite knitted suit, pointed shoes, and green hair.

Wonka is scheduled to premiere later this year, seeing Chalamet sing and dance throughout the musical adaptation. The tailored version of Roald Dahl’s 1964 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will show young Willy Wonka discovering the enchanting world of chocolate alongside co-stars Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Jim Carter, and Matt Lucas.
