After a three year wait, fans of Ahsoka Tano are being treated to her own series, the aptly-titled Ahsoka. While she’s stolen the show multiple times in past series such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, it’s finally time for all eyes to be on her with Rosario Dawson continuing to play the role of her live-action character, following up on the celebrated work of Ahsoka Tano’s VA, Ashley Eckstein. Previously, a teaser trailer and release date trailer have been shared, revealing a glimpse of what to expect from the much-anticipated show. Now, the official trailer dives further into what the series has to offer.
Again, Lucasfilm has highlighted both the beloved characters found throughout Star Wars Rebels alongside the opposition, comprised of Force-sensitive mercenaries. A training dynamic between Tano and Sabine Wren has been indicated in the trailer, likely involving Wren’s training in saber skills. Wrapping things up, the long-awaited reveal of Grand Admiral Thrawn in live-action, played by Lars Mikkelsen who voiced the legendary tactician in Star Wars Rebels, gives fans a brief look at the character.
Ahsoka arrives on Disney+ starting August 23 with a two-episode series premiere. Following this, six additional episodes are set to release on a weekly schedule. For those looking to learn more about Ahsoka Tano ahead of the series launch, Disney+ has assembled an “Ahsoka Tano Essential Episodes” playlist that includes moments from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, Star Wars Rebels and more.
