ASICS’ GT-2160 Campaign Starring Bills WR Stefon Diggs To Feature in Upcoming Sneaker Installation at HBX New York

Honoring the legacy of ASICS’ GT-2000 model, HBX New York will host a sneaker installation that will introduce the Japanese sportswear brand’s all-new GT-2160 line to footwear fans in an experiential format. Held on July 13 in NYC’s Chinatown neighborhood, the walkthrough experience will incorporate custom installs designed with raw, industrial-inspired materials (such as steel, concrete and greenery) showcasing the new colorways on display. ASICS’ latest campaign starring Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs will transport guests to the early ’90s and 2000s. On-floor purchase opportunities will encourage attendees to interact with the newly-designed kicks.

In its heyday, the GT-2000 was famed for delivering a light-on-your-feet stride, a bonafide running silhouette that defined ASICS’ trail category in the 2010s. Its sleek, aerodynamic design solidified ASICS’ running and sports heritage, following dedicated reviews and test sessions by Runner’s World editors spanning the 2013s. The GT-2160 doesn’t necessarily eclipse its predecessor; it does, however, transition the model’s heritage into a lifestyle category — a performance-forward option for avid runners and casual adventurers who value optimal shock-absorbance underfoot.

ASICS revamps the line’s wave pattern with sleek striated overlays in a range of five cool-toned neutrals: White/Illusion Blue, White/Pure Silver, White/Shamrock Green, Glacier Grey/Blue Harmony and Oyster Grey/Brick Dust. Technical reference points also pay homage to the heritage model, like the Dual GEL™ technology inserts in the midsole for advanced cushioning and segmented midsole structuring. Its original silhouette remains intact, featuring visually appealing forefoot sculpting and a skeletal-like cage enveloping the lateral and medial panels.

As the brand’s latest campaign ambassador, Stefon Diggs wears the White/Shamrock Green colorway in a 90s-style lookbook that will dominate the first floor of HBX New York during the brand’s onsite activation.
